Curriculum

According to the areas noted in the “TTNU Areas of Education” document, TTNU will give guidance and will deliver the tools to the students in order to obtain their goals. Therefore, TTNU’s curriculum has a learner-centered curriculum design: it revolves around the student needs, interests and goals. It aims to empower them to shape their education through choices. 

These include:

1.Therapists and allied health care professionals: professional growth

  1. Annual budget to take external courses 
  2. MedBridge 
  3. TTNU Sponsored Courses 
  4. Access to Medline, Medscape, Research Gate, and relevant Journals 
  5. Information gathered through professional organizations, e.g. the APTA/VPTA and its Academies, NATA, The McKenzie Institute, AAOMPT, AAOP, etc. 
  6. Study groups 
  7. Collaboration with colleagues 
  8. Online: TTNU produced videos, podcasts and the like 
  9. Free online courses from recognized providers; like AAOMPT, EIM, MAPS, APTA and its Academies, Physiopedia, etc. To ensure “credit” for these, obtain approval by TTNU first 
  10. Research 
  11. Publications, e.g. in peer reviewed journals, in open access publishing like BMC, in magazines, in leaflets, information for laypersons, etc. 
  12. Giving presentations

2.Therapists and allied health care professionals: growth in business

  1. MEG Academy 
  2. Training by TTN management (Divisions 1 and 3) 

3.Next Generation mentorship and guidance

  1. TTN senior clinicians mentor junior clinicians 
  2.  Develop careerpath

4.Higher education partnership

  1. Offer a place for clinical rotations 
  2. Giving a lecture to the students 
  3. Teaching a course to the students 

5. Community involvement
